Whale Watches

Trips generally run 3–4 hours, depending on where whales are located. As wild animals, they may be found just beyond the harbor or over 25 miles offshore.

At least one hour is spent observing whales once found.

Travel to the feeding grounds typically takes 45 minutes to an hour, where the chances of whale sightings greatly increase. During this time, our naturalists and crew will circulate the vessel.

Gloucester, America’s oldest seaport, is rich in maritime history. As we depart the harbor, our naturalists provide a guided tour, highlighting historic landmarks and offering a unique perspective on this iconic port.

April through October offers some of the most pleasant weather in Massachusetts, and it’s also the best time to observe large whale species offshore. These migratory animals travel south in the winter, with humpback whales journeying as far as the Caribbean to breed and give birth.

We are committed to providing an inclusive and welcoming experience for all guests. Boarding ramps allow wheelchair access to the main deck, bow, stern, and galley, and our crew is always available to offer assistance as needed.

Each trip is narrated by an experienced marine naturalist passionate about whales and the Gulf of Maine ecosystem. Their insights are designed to deepen your understanding and inspire a lasting appreciation for these animals and their environment.

We are committed to finding whales and go the distance to do so, achieving a sighting success rate of over 99%. While wildlife is never guaranteed, we offer a complimentary return trip if whales are not seen. Each trip on the water is a unique experience!
